Becker (an Givón, 1979:210): "..., the diachronic process is really from 'topic + subject' to 'subject + agreement'."

Ikusten genuén atzo eta herenegun nóla Givón-ek (1979:38-39) aztertzen zuén mekanismo sintaktiko historiko oso zabaldu bat nondik sortuko zirén adizki berri batzuk zein konkordatzen zirén kin sujetuak:

... the historical process by which subject topic-shift ("left-dislocation") constructions eventually change into "neutral', subject constructions with grammatical agreement. [Givón, 1979:38]
